An Urgent Call to Every Heart That Loves the Qur'an

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْم.

In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "The best of you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

This is not merely a statement of virtue — it is a sacred duty. And teaching the Qur'an means ensuring that people truly understand it, not just recite it.

The future is not coming — it is already here. Right now, artificial intelligence is learning how to speak about the Qur'an. The machines are teaching — but they have not been taught properly. If we remain silent, we risk waking up to a world where AI speaks with authority about the Book of Allah, but without the Prophet ﷺ, without the Arabic language, without the chain of narrators, and without the living scholars who carry this light in their hearts. We cannot afford to be surprised. We must be ahead of the curve. That is why I am launching The Qur'an and AI Project. It is a shield and a preparation.

To every Muslim whose heart trembles at the sound of the Ayat, I am calling you. Whether you are a scholar of Tafsir, a student of knowledge, a software engineer who fears Allah in every line of code, or a simple believer who loves this Book more than the world — I need you. This project cannot succeed in isolation. It needs your eyes, your corrections, your wisdom, and your du'a.

I make this intention before Allah: actions are judged by intentions. I seek the reward of sadaqah jariyah — ongoing charity — for every single person who, through this project, comes to understand the Qur'an more deeply, reads it with greater insight, or is protected from misunderstanding. For every verse clarified, for every heart guided, I ask Allah to record good deeds for me, and for everyone who joins me in this effort, until the Day of Judgment. Whoever contributes — whether by sharing, correcting, advising, or making du'a — will be a partner in this sadaqah jariyah.

I have already begun taking the first steps with the technology available to us today — GPT, Gemini, and other tools. During the blessed month of Ramadan, as I sat reciting and reflecting, I attempted to pair authentic translations with evocative visuals for each chapter (surah) of the Qur'an. This is merely a rough draft — a humble beginning. I am not claiming excellence. I pray that others — those with deeper knowledge, greater skill, and truer reverence — will come after me and do far better in honoring the Qur'an than I ever could. This is just the spark; the fire must be carried by the Ummah.

My ultimate intention is simple yet profound: to create something that people will actually read, enjoy, and understand — from the very first verse of Al-Fatihah to the last verse of An-Nas. Millions of Muslims around the world have never read the entire Qur'an from beginning to end. Not out of neglect or lack of love, but simply because the presentation, with our current technology, has not been as engaging, immersive, or accessible as it needs to be. That changes now. With the help of AI — guided by scholars, purified by intention, and illuminated by revelation — no Muslim born after us will ever have that excuse again. Every child, every teenager, every busy parent, every elder, regardless of background or language, will have the means to journey through the Qur'an from cover to cover and emerge with true understanding and connection.

Below is the initial work I have compiled so far. Please look at it with a forgiving eye, and if you can improve it, please do — for the sake of Allah.

Finally, I ask you from the bottom of my heart: keep me in your prayers. Insha'Allah, I will keep you in mine. May Allah bless this project, bless you, and bless every soul who engages with it. May He grant us all sincere good deeds from this effort, protect His Holy Book from distortion, and bless the generations to come with a deep, unshakeable love for the Qur'an. Ameen.

Humans have a soul. AI has a scroll. Let us make sure that scroll is examined only by the light of revelation.
