District courts are Minnesota's trial courts. They handle civil, criminal, family, probate, juvenile and other matters assigned by law. A judge applies law to cases and manages a courtroom; a judicial campaign should not promise a result in a future dispute.
The Secretary of State reports 121 total judicial seats across Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and district courts: 118 with only the incumbent filed, two with an incumbent and challengers, and one open seat. Use the candidate finder and exact sample ballot rather than assuming a contested race elsewhere appears in your district.
RESEARCH STANDARD
Check experience, public discipline, reversals where relevant, case-management data, access to counsel, recusal and conflicts, courtroom fairness and administrative commitments. Missing campaign material is unknown, not evidence of poor performance.
No score or endorsement is assigned. This is a complete official-source route to the 114 seats, not a claim that every seat has multiple candidates.
