The Night of Liberation: Celebrating the Locking of the Devils and the Descent of Angels

Tonight, the whisperer of despair, the one who thrives on your misery, is chained. The soldiers of deception, rank upon rank, are restrained. The one who threatens you with poverty, loss, and hopelessness has no power over you.

The Devil is Locked—What Does That Mean for You?

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1899, Sahih Muslim 1079)

This is not a metaphor. It is a reality unfolding tonight. If you have ever experienced:

A sudden panic, forgetting where you placed your keys or your phone.

A whisper of despair, telling you "Nothing will work out, you're a failure."

An urge to quit, to abandon hope, to give up on life.

Know that none of these whispers come from you. They are not your voice. They are not your thoughts. They are whispers meant to cause pain, to pull you away from your Lord.

But tonight, they are silenced.

Why Was the Devil Created?

Some may ask, "Why was the devil created?" But this question is only asked by those who do not know why they were created themselves.

If you understood your own creation, you would know:

You were made from light, belonging to the Owner of the Universe.

Your soul is incapable of disobedience to the Divine.

Your true essence has never told a lie, never committed evil.

Your soul departs every night when you sleep, returns every morning, and knows the streets of the heavens better than the streets of this world. It has never been severed from the Divine. You are not an animal. You are not a body. You are not the whispers you hear.

This Ramadan: A Month Without the Devil

Many do not realize the greatness of this night.

Tonight, the devil is removed from the equation.

Tonight, you will see who you are without his whispers.

Tonight, the veil is lifted just slightly—giving you the opportunity to return to your Lord.

For the next 29 or 30 days, take a mental check:

✔️ Do you feel a sense of peace you couldn’t explain?

✔️ Are your negative thoughts quieter than before?

✔️ Is the heaviness of despair suddenly lighter?

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said:

"Indeed, Satan flows through the human being like blood." (Sahih al-Bukhari 7171, Sahih Muslim 2174)

If this is true, then tonight, his flow is stopped. His power is cut off. And if whispers still come, they are only the echoes of old habits, nothing more.

A Time of Divine Alignment

The devil's chains are not just a barrier—they are an invitation.

An invitation to return to gratitude:

🌙 When was the last time you woke up and thanked the Owner of the Universe for the sunrise?

🌙 When was the last time you took a deep breath and remembered it was a gift?

🌙 When was the last time you looked at the sky and realized it was being held up without pillars?

The greatest miracle is not that Allah veils Himself from you, but that you veil yourself from Him.

This month is not an accident. The alignment of the heavens, the timing of the divine decree, the opportunity to free yourself from old chains—all of it is intentional.

So let us celebrate.

Let us welcome the angels who descend in greater numbers tonight than any other time of the year.

Let us rejoice that the one who whispered despair is gone.

Let us take a moment to recognize that this is the closest we will ever be to knowing who we truly are.

This Ramadan, do not just fast with your body.

Fast from old habits.

Fast from self-doubt.

Fast from the illusion that you are alone.

Because you never were.

Tonight, the devils are chained. The heavens are open. And you are free.
