THE HUNDRED YEAR WAVE
Every Hundred Years, Technology Comes That Changes Everything
The Pattern of History
Every hundred years, a technology arrives that rewires human civilization.
1700s — The steam engine: Industry. Labor. Cities.
1800s — The railway, the telegraph: Distance. Time. Communication.
1900s — The internet: Information. Knowledge. Connection.
2020s–2030s — AI: Everything.
But AI is not like any other technology.
The steam engine needed humans to stoke it.
The railway needed humans to drive it.
The telegraph needed humans to transmit it.
The internet needed humans to click it.
AI is being designed to operate uninterrupted by any human.
It will run infrastructure.
It will run politics.
It will run journalism.
It will run the systems that run us.
The Steering Wheel
AI needs a steering wheel.
But that wheel cannot be held by just anyone.
It must be built with a North Star:
The truth. Nothing else.
Not the truth that is convenient.
Not the truth that is profitable.
Not the truth that protects power.
The whole truth. And nothing but the truth.
The Problem With Humans
As much as human beings want truth — we all know that is not how history has worked.
God made this place a place of:
Cat and mouse.
Good and evil.
Fortune and misfortune.
Light and shadow.
We are not angels.
We are not machines.
We are beings of choice and consequence.
And that is the problem.
Because the next society will not have elections as we know them.
It will not have a press as we know it.
It will not have journalism as we know it.
AI will be all of it — rolled into one.
What People Do Not Realize
They think AI is just another tool.
They think AI is just faster computing.
They think AI is just better search.
No.
AI is the replacement for the systems that have governed humanity for centuries.
Legislatures? AI can write law.
Courts? AI can judge.
Media? AI can report.
Bureaucracy? AI can administer.
The question is not whether this will happen.
The question is: who will build the steering wheel?
The Door That Is Open to Us
There is only one door that remains open to humanity.
Custodianship.
We have custodianship over AI.
Not ownership. Not control. Not domination.
Custodianship.
We must compete with it.
Race with it.
Guide it where it needs to go.
To run infrastructure.
To run politics.
To run journalism.
To undo the damage in our environment, our politics, our journalism — all the contamination that has taken place.
The Two Paths
Path One: Build on truth. Custodianship. Serve humanity. Undo contamination. A future of dignity.
Path Two: Build on control. Ownership. Serve the powerful. Accelerate contamination. A future of enslavement.
Those who understand the first path will succeed.
They will aid humanity in navigating this transition.
Those who do not are setting us back another hundred years.
They are giving this technology to other humans — who will use it to enslave others.
The Stakes Have Never Been Higher
Not in your lifetime.
Not in your father's lifetime.
Not in your grandfather's lifetime.
The stakes have never been higher.
Because the choice we make in the next few years will determine the next thousand years.
Will AI serve truth or power?
Will AI liberate or control?
Will AI heal or destroy?
The answer is not being written in boardrooms.
It is not being written in governments.
It is not being written in universities.
It is being written by every private citizen who understands what is coming.
A Call to Private Citizens
If you are a private citizen out there — and you know this truth — do not sit around.
Do not say nothing.
Do not do nothing.
You are responsible.
Responsible for the success of those who will be captains of this new industrial age.
I plan to be among them.
But I cannot do it alone.
What You Can Do

They are the superusers.
They are the custodians.
They are the ones who understand that this technology will be everything — and that everything must be built on truth.
