Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:170 { فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِم مِّنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ أَلَّا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ }

Translation:

They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they give glad tidings to those who have not yet joined them but are left behind—that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:171

{ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ بِنِعۡمَةٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضۡلٖ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ }

Translation:

They rejoice in the blessings of Allah and His bounty, and in the fact that Allah does not let the reward of the believers be lost.

{ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَجَابُواْ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلۡقَرۡحُۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٌ }

Those who responded to the call of Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them—for those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward.

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:180

{ وَلَا يَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۖ بَلۡ هُوَ شَرّٞ لَّهُمۡۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُواْ بِهِۦ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ }

Translation:

Those who are miserly with what God has granted them out of His grace should not think that it is good for them; on the contrary, it is bad for them. Whatever they meanly withhold will be hung around their necks on the Day of Resurrection. It is God who will inherit the heavens and earth: God is well aware of everything you do.

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:181

{ لَّقَدۡ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوۡلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٞ وَنَحۡنُ أَغۡنِيَآءُۘ سَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَالُواْ وَقَتۡلَهُمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيۡرِ حَقّٖ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ }

Translation:

God has certainly heard the words of those who said, ‘God is poor, and we are rich.’ We shall record everything they say—as well as their unjust killing of prophets—and We shall say, ‘Taste the torment of the burning fire.’

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:182

{ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيۡسَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ }

Translation:

That is because of what your own hands have sent ahead: God is never unjust to His servants.

{ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيۡنَآ أَلَّا نُؤۡمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَنَا بِقُرۡبَانٖ تَأۡكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُۗ قُلۡ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رُسُلٞ مِّن قَبۡلِي بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِي قُلۡتُمۡ فَلِمَ قَتَلۡتُمُوهُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ }

Translation:

To those who say, ‘God has commanded us not to believe in any messenger unless he brings us an offering that fire consumes,’ say, ‘Messengers before me have come to you with clear signs, including the one you demand. If you are sincere, why did you kill them?’

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:184

{ فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٞ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُنِيرِ }

Translation:

If they call you a liar, messengers before you were also called liars, even though they came with clear evidence, scriptures, and enlightening books.

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:185

{ كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوۡنَ أُجُورَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۖ فَمَن زُحۡزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ فَقَدۡ فَازَۗ وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلۡغُرُورِ }

Translation:

Every soul will taste death, and you will be paid in full only on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is spared from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has truly won, while the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.

Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:186

{ لَتُبۡلَوُنَّ فِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِكُمۡ وَأَنفُسِكُمۡ وَلَتَسۡمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُوٓاْ أَذٗى كَثِيرٗاۚ وَإِن تَصۡبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ }

Translation:

You will surely be tested in your wealth and yourselves, and you will hear much abuse from those who were given the Book before you and from those who associate others with God. But if you are steadfast and mindful of God, that is the best course.

Many believe accumulating wealth secures a good life, but in Islam, wealth is a responsibility.

What you withhold will be a burden on the Day of Judgment.

Historical Context & Reason for Revelation

1. The Martyrs of Uhud (3:170-171)

These verses were revealed to comfort the families of those who were martyred at the Battle of Uhud.

The Qur’an describes how martyrs are alive with Allah, rejoicing and waiting for others to join them.

The companions were deeply grieved at their loss, and these verses provided a new perspective on sacrifice in the path of Allah.

2. The Aftermath of Uhud & the Call to Fight Again (3:172-175)

After the battle, Abu Sufyan and the Quraysh threatened to attack Medina again.
