God Has Declared War on Those Who Engage in Interest: A Call to Arms for the Righteous

The Divine Warning: A War You Cannot Win

{ فَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلُواْ فَأۡذَنُواْ بِحَرۡبٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ وَإِن تُبۡتُمۡ فَلَكُمۡ رُءُوسُ أَمۡوَٰلِكُمۡ لَا تَظۡلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظۡلَمُونَ }

[Surah Al-Baqarah: 279]

"If you do not, then be warned of war from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal—neither inflicting nor suffering harm."

This verse is not a mere warning; it is a declaration of war from Allah Himself. If you choose to engage in interest-based transactions—whether by lending, borrowing, facilitating, or benefiting—you have opened the door of war against Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ).

Who in their right mind would choose to fight Allah? This is a war you cannot win.

The Responsibility of the Wealthy: A Call to Action

It is not enough for Muslims to simply avoid interest in their personal dealings. The wealthy among the Ummah must actively fight against the interest-based system. They must create alternatives—build institutions, establish interest-free lending, and provide financial avenues where Muslims do not have to engage in riba.

The fight against riba is the fight of the righteous. It is the duty of those whom Allah has blessed with wealth to wage war on interest itself by funding solutions that allow people to escape its oppressive grip.

What Does Waging War on Riba Look Like?

1. Establishing Interest-Free Financial Institutions – Banks and businesses that provide loans without interest.

2. Supporting Islamic Microfinance – Small, interest-free loans for struggling Muslims who need them.

3. Investing in Ethical Trade – Encouraging business that aligns with Shariah law, ensuring wealth circulates fairly.

4. Educating the Ummah – Teaching Muslims why riba is forbidden and how they can live without it.

5. Challenging Governments & Policies – Advocating for an interest-free economy and holding leaders accountable.

If you are wealthy and you are not taking part in this fight for justice, you are failing in your duty.

The Warning to Muslims Who Engage in Interest

If you are a Muslim and you engage in riba, do not be surprised when you begin to lose everything.

If Allah loves you, He will crush your finances to save you. Your businesses will fail, your wealth will disappear, and calamities will pile upon you. This is not misfortune—it is divine punishment because you have engaged in a war against the Creator of the Universe.

But if Allah hates you, He will let you prosper so that your punishment in the Hereafter is even worse. He will allow you to accumulate wealth, but your soul will rot. And then, on the Day of Judgment, your fate will be sealed among those who are at war with Allah.

The System Must Be Broken

Riba is not just an individual sin; it is a system of oppression. It has created an elite ruling class that profits off the suffering of others. It has enslaved nations, destroyed economies, and trapped people in endless cycles of debt.

Allah has already warned us: a war is coming. It is our choice whether to fight on the side of Allah and His Messenger or to be among those He has declared war against.

There is no neutrality in this battle. Pick up your sword. Take up your shield. Fight the banks. Fight the corrupt policies. Build new financial structures. Be part of the victory of Islam.

Otherwise, prepare for the war that you started—a war that you cannot win.
